Bayern have secured their record-breaking striker for two more seasons, giving the club and its captain a clear commitment through June 2029.
Harry Kane has signed a new Bayern Munich contract that runs until 30 June 2029. The club announced the extension on 5 November, keeping the England captain in Munich beyond the end of his original deal, which was due to expire in 2027.
The agreement turns months of positive signals into a settled decision. Earlier in the week, Kane said the discussions were close to a conclusion. Bayern have now confirmed the paperwork, giving both sides a longer horizon as they plan for the next stages of the project under Vincent Kompany.
Numbers that explain Bayern’s decision
Bayern’s announcement puts Kane at 156 goals in 161 competitive appearances since arriving from Tottenham in 2023. He has also supplied 40 assists, according to the club’s account of his Munich record. The return is remarkable, but the extension follows more than a scoring run: Kane has become the focal point of the attack and a senior leader in a team that has continued to collect major honours.
His Bayern honours include two Bundesliga titles, the DFB Cup and two Franz Beckenbauer Supercups. The club also says he has finished as Bundesliga top scorer in each of his first three seasons in Germany. In 2026 he added the Ballon d’Or and Germany’s Footballer of the Year award, making this a particularly significant moment to secure his future.
A clear signal about Bayern’s next cycle
The club has not published the financial terms of the new deal. What is clear is its length: Bayern have committed to Kane through 2029, and he has chosen to continue in Munich after a successful first three years. Kane said he and his family feel at home in the city and that he wants to win more trophies with the club.
For Bayern, retaining a striker producing at this rate removes a major uncertainty from squad planning. The challenge now is to make the years ahead as productive as the start: keep building a side capable of competing in Europe while giving Kane the support to turn individual output into more silverware. The contract is the commitment; the next seasons will show what Bayern can make of it.
